An United States style meat recipe suitable for dinner, using the barbequing method.

Slapping some meat onto a roaring fire has to be one of the highlights of summer eating. Even better if you're slapping on a big steak with an excellent sauce as well.

The ingredients »

  • 1 cup of soy sauce
  • 1 cup of real maple syrup
  • 6 x cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon of grated fresh ginger
  • 1 teaspoon of mustard powder
  • 1 teaspoon of sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon of tabasco sauce
  • 1 cup of beer
  • 4 x (10 ounce) beef rib eye steaks

How to make »

  1. In a medium size mixing bowl, combine soy sauce, maple syrup, chopped garlic, grated ginger root, sesame oil, Tabasco sauce, and mix well to blend.
  2. Now add beer and stir lightly to mix. Pour a beer for yourself. You deserve it.
  3. Prepare steaks by scoring any fatty outside areas on steak with a knife, (this prevents the steaks from curling when barbecuing).
  4. Place steaks in a casserole dish and pour marinade over. Using a fork, punch holes in steaks so that the marinade penetrates into the steaks. Turn steaks over and repeat punching holes.
  5. Cover with clear wrap or foil and let marinate in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour or longer. You can also refrigerate and marinate overnight.
  6. Light up the fire and cook to taste, enjoy!
