An United States style meat recipe suitable for dinner, using the barbequing method.
Slapping some meat onto a roaring fire has to be one of the highlights of summer eating. Even better if you're slapping on a big steak with an excellent sauce as well.
The ingredients »
- 1 cup of soy sauce
- 1 cup of real maple syrup
- 6 x cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon of grated fresh ginger
- 1 teaspoon of mustard powder
- 1 teaspoon of sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon of tabasco sauce
- 1 cup of beer
- 4 x (10 ounce) beef rib eye steaks
How to make »
- In a medium size mixing bowl, combine soy sauce, maple syrup, chopped garlic, grated ginger root, sesame oil, Tabasco sauce, and mix well to blend.
- Now add beer and stir lightly to mix. Pour a beer for yourself. You deserve it.
- Prepare steaks by scoring any fatty outside areas on steak with a knife, (this prevents the steaks from curling when barbecuing).
- Place steaks in a casserole dish and pour marinade over. Using a fork, punch holes in steaks so that the marinade penetrates into the steaks. Turn steaks over and repeat punching holes.
- Cover with clear wrap or foil and let marinate in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour or longer. You can also refrigerate and marinate overnight.
- Light up the fire and cook to taste, enjoy!
